Club Mission

Rodeo Room is a non-profit, student-run country dance club at Mount Royal University dedicated to building community through line dancing, country swing, music, and shared experiences. Our mission is to create an inclusive and welcoming environment where students and community members of all experience levels can learn, connect, and enjoy dance together. Provide accessible and welcoming weekly dance classes for individuals of all experience levels. Build a strong sense of community and belonging through dance and social connection. Encourage students to learn, grow, and develop their confidence and skills in line dancing and country swing. Share the love for western culture. Give back to the community through charity initiatives, fundraisers, volunteer opportunities, and community events. Represent Mount Royal University through our volunteer Performance Team at campus and community events. Create opportunities for our members to share their passion for dance by performing, teaching, and engaging with others. Promote the idea that dance is a universal language that brings people together and does not discriminate. Rodeo Room is guided by our belief that “At Rodeo Room, there is a seat for everyone.” Whether someone has been dancing for years or is stepping onto the dance floor for the first time, our goal is to ensure there is always a place for them within our community."

Club Description

Rodeo Room works to accomplish its mission by creating accessible opportunities for students to learn, participate in, and enjoy country dance while building meaningful connections within the Mount Royal University community. Through weekly classes, community involvement, performances, and special events, we provide members with opportunities to develop their dance skills, meet new people, build confidence, and feel a sense of belonging on campus. Our goal is to create a positive and inclusive club environment where everyone feels welcome, regardless of their previous dance experience. We also aim to extend our impact beyond campus by participating in community events, supporting charitable initiatives and fundraisers, volunteering, and sharing our love of dance with others.
