Club Mission

To facilitate a framework of social engagement, professional development, academic support and advocate for information design students, within a positive and welcoming atmosphere. Share and connect students to appropriate resources.

To encourage collaboration among the Information Design network (industry stakeholders, faculty, alumni, peers, other university programs, and so forth) to enhance opportunities for the IDS community to excel.

Club Description

We will achieve our objectives through sharing and connecting students to appropriate resources, planning and hosting events to create community, as well as host events that further professional skills and enhance student professional materials like their portfolios, LinkedIn and other materials provided to potential employers or clients.

We will accompany students as a silent support if there are any issues they would like to address with faculty, or other clubs and support them in locating resources. In the case of multiple students having issues, we can facilitate meetings structures for their own choice of actions moving forwards to connect them to assistance they may find appropriate for their situation.

We encourage students actively pursuing a Bachelor of Communications in Information Design (full-time or part-time) to join. No Mount Royal University (MRU) student will be discriminated against for membership, as any MRU student may become a member of the society. There is no charge to join the society as a member or executive.
