Fundraising Policy
In particular, clubs are not allowed to fundraise in the following ways. Fundraising in the following ways will result in disciplinary action up to and including de-ratification:
Seeking or receiving donations of alcoholic beverages or items that promote the sale of alcoholic beverages;
Approaching regulatory agencies for licensing without SAMRU approval in writing.
Approaching known SAMRU sponsors or partners for any type of fundraising. If you are unsure of the status of a potential sponsor, please check with the Clubs & Events Coordinator.

Simple and effective fundraising activities that help clubs raise money while engaging the campus community.

Promote your club and raise funds by designing and selling branded items like t-shirts, mugs, or stickers.

Partner with other clubs or external organizations to host joint events or secure sponsorship support.

Sponsorship Restrictions
To protect ongoing SAMRU and MRU partnerships, Clubs cannot approach certain external organizations for partnerships. This includes and is not limited to:
- Adrenalin Source for Sports
- ATCO
- Calgary Arts Development
- Calgary Booster Club
- Canadian Natural (CNRL)
- Coca-Cola
- Connect First Credit Unions
- Under Armor
- Grey Eagle Resort & Casino
- Little Rock Printing
- MEG Energy
- Pepsi
- Rogers
- Suncor
- Trolly No. 5 Brewery
